FREE Cummins INSITE Software: Cruise Control - PTO/Remote PTO Test (Signature/ISX-15)

PTO Validation (Active/ Inactive)

Figure 1.1 - PTO Telltale (Dash Panel)

1). Access the Features and Parameters for PTO/Remote PTO settings. Read More: Power Take-Off (PTO) Operation on CUMMINS Engines.
Figure 1.2 - PTO/Remote PTO (Adjustable Parameters)
→Maximum Engine Speed = 2050 RPM
→Minimum Engine Speed = 750 RPM
→Resume Switch Engine Speed = 750 RPM
→Set Switch Engine Speed = 1500 RPM
→Switch Ramp Rate = 250 rpm/s

2). Use the Data Monitor/Logger to view parameters for monitoring the PTO/Remote PTO settings. Read More: Data Monitor/Logger on Cummins INSITE Software (CUMMINS Engines).
Figure 1.3 - Data Monitor/Logger (Custom)
Starts the Engine, and wait until the Air Supply is provided before the PTO operation.
#Monitoring parameters related to PTO/Remote PTO:
→Cruise - Set/Resume Switch = None
→Cruise Control On Switch = Off
→PTO Additional Switch = Off
→PTO Validation = Inactive
→Throttle Status (Idle Validation) = Off Idle

3). Activate the PTO operation.
Figure 1.4 - PTO Additional Switch (On)
Depressed the Clutch, PTO On/Off Switch to ON, and Transmission to D (Drive) or the Lowest Gear, and slowly released the Clutch.
→Cruise - Set/Resume Switch = None
→Cruise Control On Switch = On
→PTO Additional Switch = On (as PTO Signals/ PTO Engage Sense to ECM and Dash Panel/ PTO Telltale, and activate the PTO Solenoid). *for example: apply N/O Pressure Switch (for PTO Engaged Indicator Switch).
→PTO Validation = Inactive
→Throttle Status (Idle Validation) = On Idle

4). Now the Cruise Control Switch already set to the ON position. To set the Engine speed to the first preset PTO speed, move the Cruise Control Select Switch to the SET position (refer to Figure 1.2 above) - Set Switch Engine Speed = 1500 RPM.
Figure 1.5 - Set Switch Engine Speed (1500 RPM)

→Cruise - Set/Resume Switch = None (Momentarily Set)
→Cruise Control On Switch = On
→PTO Additional Switch = On (as PTO Signals/ PTO Engage Sense to ECM and Dash Panel/ PTO Telltale, and activate the PTO Solenoid). *for example: apply N/O Pressure Switch (for PTO Engaged Indicator Switch).
→PTO Validation = Active
→Throttle Status (Idle Validation) = On Idle
Figure 1.6 - PTO Validation (Active)/ Set Switch Engine Speed
To set the Engine speed to the second preset PTO speed, move the Cruise Control Select Switch to the RESUME position (refer to Figure 1.2 above) - Resume Switch Engine Speed = 750 RPM. A third engine speed is available if Additional Switch Engine Speed is enabled and the corresponding switch is selected. If Alternate Operation is enabled, only one preset speed is available.
→Cruise - Set/Resume Switch = None (Momentarily Resume)
→Cruise Control On Switch = On
→PTO Additional Switch = On (as PTO Signals/ PTO Engage Sense to ECM and Dash Panel/ PTO Telltale, and activate the PTO Solenoid). *for example: apply N/O Pressure Switch (for PTO Engaged Indicator Switch).
→PTO Validation = Active
→Throttle Status (Idle Validation) = On Idle
Figure 1.7 - PTO Validation (Active)/ Resume Switch Engine Speed
To set the Engine speed to the desired PTO speed, move and hold the Cruise Control Select Switch to the SET/ RESUME position (refer to Figure 1.2 above) - Switch Ramp Rate = 250 rpm/s, and the Maximum Engine Speed = 2050 RPM.
